The Beaches Rock The iHeartRadio MMVAs With ‘T-Shirt’ Performance
If you’re wondering whether or not the future of music is in good hands, look no further than The Beaches. The four-piece rock band tore up the iHeartRadio MMVAs stage tonight with their high energy performance of “T-Shirt,” proving that rock and roll will never die.
The Toronto band, made up of members Jordan Miller, Kylie Miller, Leandra Earl, and Eliza Enman-McDaniel, made their iHeartRadio MMVAs debut in a big way, bringing a good old fashioned rock show to the biggest block party of the year.
No doubt inspiring future generations of young girls to pick up a guitar and set of drum sticks, The Beaches have been amassing a huge following of fans since dropping their debut album Late Show in 2017. Working on the album with Metric’s Emily Haines and James Shaw, The Beaches have been ruling award shows, already winning Breakthrough Group of the Year at the 2018 JUNO Awards.
In addition to performing, The Beaches were also up for their first iHeartRadio MMVA this year, earning a nomination for Best New Canadian Artist.
The band’s performance was introduced by Canadian snowboarder Craig McMorris and Much Creator Jus Reign, who joked about the upcoming legalization of marijuana in Canada. What is it, guys? Just 51 more days?
The 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs, hosted by Awkwafina, features performances from Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Meghan Trainor, Kris Wu (吴亦凡), Marshmello featuring Anne-Marie, Brett Kissel, bülow, The Beaches, Bebe Rexha, 98 Degrees, 5 Seconds of Summer and Halsey.
