JUNO-Award Winning Band The Beaches To Perform
As the annual award show is fast approaching with more performers and presenters being announced, the 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs is looking like it will be the biggest one yet.
Joining this year’s cohort of star-studded performers is Toronto-based rock band The Beaches. Fresh off their JUNO win for Breakthrough Group of the Year and having just announced that they will join The Glorious Sons on tour in the fall, this Canadian all-female rock band is making some serious waves.
With their stomping drums and brash confidence, the quartet has earned themselves international attention as a young group from Toronto’s east end with retro, cool-girl style and a gritty, classic rock ‘n’ roll sound that’s inspired by the ’70s.
The Beaches is made up of sisters Jordan and Kylie Miller, as well as best friends Leandra Earl and Eliza Enman-McDaniel. The group dropped their highly anticipated debut record The Late Show in November 2017 to much acclaim with hit tracks like “Gold,” “Walk Like That,” “T Shirt,” and “Money” which earned the band a SOCAN Songwriting Prize nomination.
In addition to The Beaches, today’s performer announcement also includes 98 Degrees, bülow, Bebe Rexha, and Brett Kissel, as well as previously announced performers Meghan Trainor, Shawn Mendes, Kris Wu, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Alessia Cara, Halsey, and Marshmello featuring Anne-Marie.
Also announced today, eTalk host and former Much VJ Tyrone Edwards will be hosting the iHeartRadio MMVAs, with Chloe Wilde and Patrick Langlois returning to host the red carpet show. Watch Awkwafina host the 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs on Sunday, August 26 at 9/7MT on CTV and Much.
