Shawn Mendes And Drake Lead The Pack For The 2018 Nominations

We’re less than one month away from the 2018 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards and that means it’s time to find out who could be going home with some hardware. Nominations were announced this morning and include the biggest artists in the world and some of the most exciting up and coming acts to debut this year.

Shawn Mendes is not only returning to the iHeartRadio MMVAs as a performer, but there’s also a good chance he’ll be making multiple trips to the stage to add to his already impressive collection. The superstar leads this year’s list with an incredible eight nominations, including Best Pop Artist or Group, Artist of the Year, and Video of the Year for “In My Blood.”

Right behind Mendes is the 6ix God, with Drake up for seven awards, including Best Hip Hop Artist or Group and Video for the Year for God’s Plan, which also earned a nomination for Karena Evans, who is up for Director of the Year.

Last year’s co-host Alessia Cara is set to perform at this year’s show and she’s also up for five awards, including Best Pop Artist or Group, Fan Fave Artist, and Fan Fave Video. Fellow performer Halsey is also nominated for Best Pop Artist or Group and Fan Fave Artist, as well as Video of the Year for “Bad At Love.”

Newcomer Kris Wu is set to make his debut on the iHeartRadio MMVAs stage this year and scored his first nomination for Fan Fave New Artist. Meghan Trainor, who is set to perform for the first time this year as well, earned a nomination for Best Pop Artist or Group. Aussie pop rockers 5 Seconds of Summer have also been announced as performers and earned a nomination for Fan Fave Group or Duo. Marshmello is up for four awards, including Best EDM/Dance Artist or Group.

Voting for Fan Fave Artist, Fan Fave Duo or Group, Fan Fave Video, Fan Fave Single, Fan Fave New Artist and Fan Fave Creator is now open. Fans can vote in each category once per hour on here on the site and also cast their votes using hashtags on Twitter.
