Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine Are Your Best New Canadian Artists

Get familiar with Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine because they’ve just won the iHeartRadio MMVA for Best New Canadian Artist.

Best known for their debut single “Ain’t Easy,” Woods and Fine officially entered the music scene when they were drafted as contestants on CTV’s musical talent show, The Launch. From Ottawa, Ontario, Woods, an instrumentalist and composer and Jamie, a lyricist and vocalist, auditioned for the show with a stripped-down version of Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On.” Their rendition wowed The Launch judges and lead to the recording of “Ain’t Easy.” Co-written by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and iHeartRadio MMVAs nominee, Camila Cabello, “Ain’t Easy” received heavy radio rotation and quickly became available on all streaming services. Today, with over 2,400,000 streams on YouTube, “Ain’t Easy” is nothing short of a verified hit.

Receiving their award on the iHeartRadio MMVAs red carpet following their performance of “Ain’t Easy,” the Canadian duo were all smiles. Also among the nominees for Best New Canadian Artist were The Beaches, NEW CITY, bülow, Ralph, and Johnny Orlando.
