Watch 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Explosive Live Performance of ‘Youngblood’

Following last week’s release of the official music video for “Youngblood,” Australian heartthrobs 5 Seconds of Summer have just released an explosive live performance of the single from their Apple Music event in New York. During their performance, the pop-rock foursome had the crowd swooning and singing along to every word to the drum-heavy track.

The live performance of “Youngblood” is featured in Apple Music’s documentary centred around the band, which includes candid interviews, behind the scenes footage, taking a closer look at their return and third studio album. 5SOS also played the single along with more of their iconic bangers during a one-night-only New York show to celebrate their album and the documentary release. After their two-year break, “Youngblood” was released as the title track off their 2018 album that dropped in June. The boys wanted to move away from their original pop-punk roots to a new, thunderous yet danceable sound that reflects their growth from teenagers to young adults.

“The vision for the band is totally different from what it used to be. We wanted to achieve different things with our music and broaden the scope of our listeners through influences that we had yet to tap into. Last year when we wrote this album we spent a lot of time refocusing what influences this band,” says drummer and vocalist Ashton Irwin.
