We predict the trends for the MMVA Red Carpet
The MMVAs are just over a month away and that means the biggest red carpet of the year is also, you know, just over a month away. We can’t wait to see what the stars of the MMVAs will be rocking when they make their way down the red carpet. Check out some trends we think will be popping up on June 15 and while you’re at it, check out our Inspiration Gallery and enter for your chance to win the Ultimate MMVA Weekend from H&M. The two-piece trend has been going on for about a year now, but we’re beginning to see celebs turn up the look with a full skirt instead of a mini. Emma Stone pulled the trend off brilliantly at the Met Gala while wearing Thakoon Panichgul.
We’ve spotted this red carpet look on everyone from Taylor Swift to Blake Lively to Marion Cotillard and would love to see it at the MMVAs.
We are willing to bet big money that MMVA performer Lorde will be sporting some deep purple lips at this year’s show. Her trademark look has been inspiring other musicians, with Selena Gomez and Beyoncé both spotted with dark pouts.
Black and White
The bright colours of summer may have to wait a little longer to get their time to shine with all things black and white popping up on every red carpet. Hailee Steinfeld looks sophisticated and chic in this Prabal Gurung piece.
Justin Bieber brought date Kelly Kapowski to the 2011 MMVAs on his shirt and we think the trend is coming back. With Ryan Gosling and Macaulay Culkin battling for who can have one another’s face on a shirt more often, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this trend on the MMVA red carpet.
It’s comeback season for lace, which has been spotted all over the red carpet. We loved Greer Grammar’s lace frock at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.
Sure, the MMVAs take place in the middle of June AND outside, but we don’t think that will stop guests from rocking a biker look on the red carpet.
All White Ensembles
Rihanna looked fierce and fresh in her two piece white gown at the Met Gala, giving stylists everywhere inspiration for the rest of the red carpet season.
Blue and Green Hair
From Katy Perry to Kylie Jenner, blue and green seem to be the biggest hair colours of the season.

Sundance hit Swiss Army Man co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano find themselves building fires, killing raccoons and singing “bah, bah, bah, ahhhhhh” in the “Montage” lyric video. The two stars sing along to “Montage,” performed by indie rockers Andy Hull and Robert McDowell of Manchester Orchestra, who are also responsible for the rest of […]
There’s a whole new wave of rappers getting in-touch with their sensitive sides and showing their hometowns love. Drake is no longer just a rapper who loves Toronto, he’s a rapper who loves Toronto and has his very own mood. Similarly, Chi-Town’s Chance The Rapper has gone from rapping about how acid has made him […]
Gwen Stefani released her third solo album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like, in March and her latest single continues the progression from heartbreak to love. Following the painfully poignant, “I Used To Love You” and the lighthearted pop bop “Make Me Like You,” Stefani’s new song “Misery” sounds more like the latter. Contrary […]
The Lonely Island are preparing to release their first feature film, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, this week and that means a lot of hilarious R-rated music from the masterminds that brought us “Dick In A Box” and “I Just Had Sex.” In the new film out Friday, Andy Samberg stars as Conner4Real, a pop […]
Our first look at the Potters for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is here and it’s just as exciting as we hoped! The eighth instalment in J.K. Rowling’s beloved series is the first of its kind to be turned into a play, opening June 7 in London at The Palace Theatre. Harry […]
