Watch Niall Horan Make Up Instant Songs
We all know that Niall Horan is an amazing songwriter. Whether he’s crafting his own hits or reimagining other artist’s singles (check out Niall covering Julia Michaels’ “Issues” here), the newly solo singer has proven his talent both on stage and in the recording studio. But did you know that he’s also an amazing instant songwriter? It’s totally a thing.
While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this month, Horan and Fallon grabbed a guitar, a tiny keyboard and a harmonica to start a band. We’ll call it Two Direction.
The pair used a fishbowl (RIP fish) full of suggestions to craft their new songs on the spot, bringing the titles “Witness the Fitness,” “Quickly Clicky Pens” or “Stepping On Toes” to life. Could one of these tracks be the huge hit to knock Horan’s singles “Slow Hands” and “This Town” from the charts? Probably not. But they are hilarious and pretty catchy.
During his Tonight Show appearance, Horan also showed off his songwriting skills when he performed his sultry new single “Slow Hands.” This is what happens when a talented artist takes more than two minutes to write a song. It makes a lot more sense.
