The 5 Biggest Moments from the 2013 MMVAs

best of 2013 mmva

5. Oversized Psy
The Gangman Style star proved to take his hosting gig seriously, ending the night and his second performance with a two story blow-up doll made to look like PSY.

4. Red Couple Carpets
From Chavril to Tyler Hoechlin and Brittany Snow the now-defunct Big Sean and Naya Rivera, last year’s MMVA red carpet was the place to be to see some of the biggest couples of the year.

3. I See London, I See France
First the Janoskian’s showed us their boxers, then Marianas Trench performed in their tighty whities. People looooove getting naked at the MMVAs.

2. All the feels of the side stage
Ed Sheeran kicked off all the feels with his solo performance of Lego House on the side stage and the emotional hits just kept coming. Serena Ryder was up next to perform What I Wouldn’t Do, with Philip Philips getting the guitar passed on to play Home. Someone get me a box of Timbits to cry over.

1. The arrival of T-Swizzle
We knew that if we waited long enough, prayed hard enough, and sent enough annoying fan letters, we would finally get Taylor Swift to the MMVAs. Dreams do come true.

  • Watch Mac Demarco And Nathan Fielder Jam Out At FYF Fest

FYF Fest took over Exposition Park in L.A. this past weekend and, luckily, we’ve got a truckload of social posts to cure the inevitable FOMO. But, we’re especially thankful for the ‘grams that captured the unlikely combo of Mac DeMarco and Nathan Fielder on stage. Funnyman Nathan Fielder (that’s Nathan For You, in case you didn’t know) […]

  • Get Lost In The Lights For The Exclusive Premiere Of Hedley’s ‘Can’t Slow Down’

Canadian pop rockers Hedley are most recognized for their high-energy live performances and infectious upbeat singles like “Anything,” “Cha-Ching,” and “Never Too Late”—but it’s the band’s sometimes overshadowed emotional tracks that often resonate with fans on a deeper level. These songs have helped build the foursome’s loyal following and Hedley’s latest addition to that list […]

  • ‘Fade,’ ‘Side To Side’ And Other Music Videos That Are Unrealistic Depictions Of Exercising

Even though we love them, Kanye West’s “Fade” and Ariana Grande’s “Side To Side” are hardly groundbreaking. Too sweaty, too sexy workout music videos have been giving us unrealistic expectations of what fitness looks like for decades. “Side To Side,” released yesterday,  includes scenes of Grande and company spinning, showering, steaming and of course, frolicking in a […]

  • 10 Can’t-Miss Movies Coming To TIFF 2016

In Toronto, late summer is the best time of the year to take a selfie with your favourite celebrity. It’s also the best time to see some really great movies before they hit theatres. That’s because from September 8 to 18, it’s Toronto International Film Festival time. Not sure what to see? Don’t stress, you’re […]

  • Sleigh Bells Have A Tear-Filled Summer In ‘It’s Just Us Now’ Video

When it comes to good locations for crying, a pool may not seem like an obvious choice, but for Sleigh Bells and their new music video “It’s Just Us Now,” a pool is the prime location. It makes sense, really. You’re already wet. Sleigh Bells frontwoman Alexis Krauss is having a bummer summer in “It’s […]
