#TBT: MMVA Co-Host Fashion Edition

TBT MMVA Co-Hosts

As if we weren’t already uber excited to see Lorde and Imagine Dragons perform on Sunday, June 15 at the 2014 MMVAs, now we know that Kendall and Kylie Jenner will be this year’s co-hosts! ‘Scuse us while we take this short intermission to do a happy dance…and we’re back.

We can’t wait to see what fashion trends the girls will be setting when they hit the stage on Sunday, June 15. Not only are they huge fashionistas, but they also have some very stylish shoes to fill. Let’s have a #TBT to some of our fave MMVA co-host fashions.

The Jonas Brothers, 2009
The Jo Bros not only made history by being the first celebrity co-hosts of the MMVAs, but they also officially bringing suits back. Like, BACK back. These three are making us wonder why we weren’t born in the 1950s when suits were a daily occurrence. Rawr.

Miley Cyrus, 2010
When former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus was ready to shed her Disney image, she showed up at the MMVAs ready for hosting duty in some of the hottest looks we’ve ever seen at an award show. Not since Carried Bradshaw’s nude dress has flesh tone looked so good on someone.

Miley channeled her inner Beyoncé during a performance of Can’t Be Tamed, rocking a sexy white body suit that seems like a faint memory in light of Miley’s recent trend towards the highest cut body suits we’ve ever seen.

Making us wish we could actually pull off leather shorts and a bandana, Miley made street cred an outfit during Party In The USA. Her best accessory during the performance? A surprise appearance by pre-egg throwing, pre-drag racing Justin Bieber. Oh, the good ole days.

Selena Gomez, 2011
We know that there were a ton of gorgeous celebs at the 2011 MMVAs, but the show stealer and belle of the ball that night was the 2011 co-host Selena Gomez. Gomez had a ton of noteworthy outfits, starting off with her cream coloured mini on the red carpet.

Next, Gomez featured her swoon-worthy gams in black shorts and a white vest, giving off a Vogue feeling with the look.

Lastly, Gomez looked like a modern day fairy princess in her flowing black and red gown, making use of the light, sweeping skirt overlay.

LMFAO, 2012
Of course the biggest fashion shocker at the 2012 MMVAs was LMFAO’s Sky Blu showing off a short new do. Once we got past the shock over the lack of curls, we moved onto the band’s killer steez. The duo stepped up their trademark brightly coloured and sporty ensembles, sporting leather pants and blazers. Of course, LMFAO made upscale menswear all their own, keeping their signature zebra print throughout the night.

PSY, 2013
PSY single handily made men’s shoulder pads cool, rocking a custom white vest on stage, complete with oversized shoulders.

Keeping it classic with his second look, PSY again showed off his puffed shoulder pad look, this time stepping it up with a chic houndstooth pattern.

We can’t wait to see what looks Kendall and Kylie Jenner will be wearing when they hit the stage as co-hosts of the 2014 MMVAs on Sunday, June 15 at 9E/6P.

Instead of catching ghosts (or Pokémon) this week, Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones had the unfortunate task of busting the most unseemly creatures 2016 has to offer: Twitter trolls. Yesterday, Jones visited Late Night with Seth Meyers to discuss the Twitter trolls she encountered in response to the Ghostbusters movie. With her recent return back to Twitter […]

  • Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ Was The Soundtrack To My Coming-Of-Age Story

Amy Winehouse had a voice much bigger than her five-foot-something stature. When Back to Black went double platinum nearly a year after its release, this tiny kid from the U.K. had the world wondering, “What is this girl about?” My story with Winehouse started before she became a household name. As July 23 marks five years since […]

With The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now just a few weeks away, we can’t help but listen to the iconic theme song on repeat. Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” has become a nostalgic song for the 20-somethings of this generation. It makes us think of a time when Sidekick phones were all the rage, Paris […]

  • Céline Dion Is The Kween Of ‘Wheel Of Musical Impressions’

Céline Dion hasn’t spent a lifetime performing to sold out crowds just to sit on a couch and do a few halfhearted impressions. The woman’s an *entertainer*. That’s why when Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon invited the Grammy winner to play Wheel of Musical Impressions, Dion agreed. And then she slayed. Dion did the usual […]
