Shawn Mendes Treats Fans To First-Ever TV Performance Of ‘Treat You Better’

shawnperformance

Shawn Mendes returned to the iHeartRadio MMVAs for his second appearance in two years and treated thousands of screaming fans to the first broadcast performance of his new single, “Treat You Better.”

Mendes started the performance solo, sitting on a chair with a green wall backdrop to match the video teaser he released weeks ago on his Instagram page. Mendes eventually joined the rest of his band on stage to deliver an emotionally charged performance of the track.

The guitar-driven pop song acts as the lead single to Mendes’ upcoming second full-length album, due out in September.

Mendes earned six nominations ahead of tonight’s show, winning Best Pop Video and Fan Fave Video with Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello for their duet, “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
