Martha Hunt Stars In Justin Bieber And David Guetta’s Video ‘2U’
Justin Bieber didn’t become one of the biggest pop stars of all time by not understanding what people want. The Canadian singer has released some of the most exciting and interesting music videos in pop history. He’s danced, he’s fought, he’s kissed, he’s acted, and he’s made millions around the world fall in love with him. But even Bieber knows that sometimes the best thing you can do is put out a great song and release a music video full of beautiful models. You gotta give the people what they want.
That’s exactly what Justin Bieber has done on his new track “2U” with David Guetta. Rather than releasing a music video starring themselves, the two men have teamed up with Victoria’s Secret to create a video full of beautiful Angels dancing and lip-synching to their new track. Expect the views for “2U” single to be in the millions by the end of the weekend.
The new video, which was released today, stars Victoria’s Secret Angels like Jasmine Tookes, Stella Maxwell, Romee Strijd, Elsa Hosk, and Sara Sampaio, as well as this year’s first time iHeartRadio MMVA presenter Martha Hunt. “2U” marks Hunt’s third music video appearance, having previously appeared in The Chainsmokers video for “Paris” and bestie Taylor Swift’s squad-filled “Bad Blood” video.
Bieber has been steadily making the move towards a more EDM sound, most notably with his work over the past few years with Skrillex. But now in his new collaboration with dance hitmaker David Guetta, Bieber has fully transitioned into a new genre, proving that his soulful vocals and talent for crafting a catchy hook can be applied anywhere on the charts.
Speaking with MTV UK, David Guetta described “2U” as “…a very romantic love song. What I’m trying to do here is a combination of emotional parts and the energy of crazy electronic dance beats. That’s what I do, and that’s what I like. I like making the people dance, but with a tear in their eyes.”
Guetta also confirmed that a second, non-branded video for “2U” will drop in the future. So don’t worry, Beliebers. There could still be some Justin-screen time in the near future.
Justin Bieber is nominated for two iHeartRadio MMVAs this year, including Most Buzzworthy Canadian and Fan Fave Artist or Group.
Don’t miss Martha Hunt at the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs on Sunday, June 18 at 9E/6P.
