Lorde Reveals Her Melodrama Tracklisting
We’re officially less than one month away from Lorde dropping her highly anticipated sophomore album and the singer has now revealed the tracklisting for Melodrama. Cue the squeals.
The singer co-wrote the album with Bleacher’s frontman Jack Antonoff, with the two working together in Antonoff’s Brooklyn home for much of 2016. Lorde debuted her lead single and music video for “Green Light” in March, announcing the title for Melodrama at the same time.
Working with director Grant Singer, Lorde said the video for “Green Light” was inspired by her own life. “I knew that I wanted it to be set at night and feel like my real life. I’m wearing the shoes that I wear every night when I go out partying at home. I call a car and I get in a car. All these things are taken from my real life.”
A few days after premiering “Green Light,” Lorde played Saturday Night Live, performing her lead single and debuting the emotional “Liability,” with Antonoff joining her on stage to play the piano.
According to the tracklist for Melodrama, which Lorde posted to her Instagram account today, the somber single will appear twice, with “Liability (Reprise)” listed as Track 10.
The new album will feature 11 tracks in total, with Lorde already previewing a handful of songs including “Homemade Dynamite” and “Sober” on stage at Coachella and during a private concert the night before the festival.
Melodrama arrives on June 16, two days before Lorde returns to the iHeartRadio MMVA stage. The singer is up for three awards this year, including Most Buzzworthy International Artist or Group, iHeartRadio International Artist of the Year and Fan Fave International Artist or Group (click here to cast your votes in the four Fan Fave categories).
Don’t miss Lorde performing at the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs on Sunday, June 18 along with Imagine Dragons, Niall Horan, Iggy Azalea, DNCE, Jazz Cartier, Arkells, Post Malone and Julia Michaels.
