Lorde Wins iHeartRadio International Artist of the Year

Just two days after releasing her highly anticipated sophomore album Melodrama, Lorde has been announced as the iHeartRadio International Artist of the Year!

The award was presented by hosts Joe Jonas and Alessia Cara, who were joined on stage by 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn and actor Kat Graham, who was returning to the iHeartRadio MMVAs for the second time. Accepting the award ahead of her medley performance of “Green Light” and “Perfect Places,” Lorde walked on stage wearing a pink jumpsuit and chunky platforms.

Addressing the screaming crowd, Lorde thanked her fans, saying “I just want to say how grateful I am to everyone who waited for this album, I know it’s a long time to wait,” said Lorde. “All the kids outside my hotel who waited, thank you.”

Tonight’s win marks Lorde’s second iHeartRadio Much Music Video Award, with the singer taking home Best International Artist Video for “Royals” back in 2014, the same year the singer made her debut performance at the annual show.

In addition to iHeart Radio International Artist of the Year, Lorde is also nominated for Most Buzzworthy International Artist or Group and Fan Fave International Artist or Group.

The 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs are hosted by Alessia Cara and Joe Jonas and feature performances from Camila Cabello, Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Julia Michaels, Post Malone, Jazz Cartier, Niall Horan, DNCE, and Arkells. Click here to watch now!
