Looking Back On MMVA Fashion Throughout The Years
As time evolves, so does fashion. Someday, we’ll all look back on our hologram photo albums with disgust as we criticize our crop tops, denim jackets and high-waisted pants.
Like most award shows, we don’t just look forward to the iHeartRadio MMVAs for the celebrity appearances and performances, we also look forward to the red carpet fashion. Every year, someone’s destined to show up in something either absolutely gorgeous or extremely questionable (here’s looking at you, Marianas Trench). Take a look at the evolution of fashion, exhibited by these MMVA red carpet looks throughout the years.
Mandy Moore, 2002
Mandy Moore proves that baby pink has always been cool in this v-neck, spaghetti-strap dress.
Cut-outs and metallic tiger-stripped prints were the way to go in 2003.
Kaley Cuoco and Joel David Moore, 2004
Kaley and Joel prove that denim will never go out of style.
Remember when Ed Hardy and bedazzled skull t-shirts were a thing? Ciara definitely does.
It’s safe to assume Badgalriri would never be caught dead in this attire now.
Avril Lavigne, 2007
Pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne proves that 2007 punk fashion included fishnet stockings and a lot of plaid. Now, punk-grunge fashion still includes a lot of black, but also incorporates darker shades of red, ripped denim, lace and a lot of leather.
You know you were rocking your Girlicious merch out on the playground back in 2008.
Miley Cyrus, 2009
“Party in the USA” marked Miley’s slow transformation out of Hannah Montana and into the Miley we now know and love. She wore this bedazzled, cut-out one piece that, let’s be honest, she’d totally be cool with wearing again.
Whitney Port, 2010
Can’t decide on which print you want to rock today? In 2010, you didn’t have to choose!
Marianas Trench, 2014
And finally, Marianas Trench, forever living in their own fashion world.

If The Chainsmokers meteoric rise to becoming some of the biggest artists in the world isn’t impressive enough, the fact that they’ve achieved this feat without ever releasing an album should help. A little over a week away from their debut album’s official release, The Chainsmokers have now dropped the third single from what will be […]
It’s been over a year since One Direction announced their hiatus in January 2016 and since then, Directioners have been placated with a number of solo efforts and diverging career paths. Resident 1D bad boy Harry Styles took his leave from One Direction to make the transition into movies. The English musician is set to appear […]

It turns out January’s “Hallelujah Money” was just small taste of more music to come. Yesterday, the animated English music group Gorillaz gifted fans with a whopping four new songs, two music videos (plus three “art track” videos) and an album announcement. We had a hunch that Gorillaz were up to something when they started an Instagram account […]
Here we are again, counting down the hours until we can peel out of wherever we are and into the weekend. In terms of music, this week has obviously been a fruitful and newsworthy one. Saturday night saw the highly anticipated drop of Drake’s stacked “More Life” playlist, while the rest of the week brought […]
