9AM June 13: The first wristbands have been given away! I couldn’t believe the mob scene this morning - a line-up that snaked streets all the way from Queen and John to University and beyond. I’m not sure how many will get wristbands, but I hope everyone was safe and had fun!
4pm, June 12: I think there’s a kajillion people out there. It’s crazy cause this time last year, the line-up had only just wrapped around the building.. there are probably twice as many people here now!!
This just in: they will be giving out tickets to secure your place in line and to ensure that people don’t butt!

I’m a Mom and my kids are going down, now my friend and I were planning to go late at night to check on them and sleep over with them, would that be a problem to sit with them??? We dont want anyone thinking we are butting, we don’t want the wristbands we just want to be there for our own peace of mind??? What do you think???

If it is obvious that the line becomes longer than the number of wristbands available will you let people know as opposed to having them wait all night?
Will it be possible for different parents to take shifts supervising their kids?
Can 2 kids lining up get three numbers while the third completes an exam?
Have there been safety issues with these lineups in the past?

Hey, I was wondering…my friend is in a play friday night..but if me and one other friend get in line earlier in the day can we get him a ticket for him and then he can meet us there? and we will tell the people around us so they dont think he is budding? or no? -
@Keneisha: you can tell the people around you.. but if they hand out tickets before he gets there, I don’t think they’ll give you an extra one for them..
Hopefully they’ll come before the tickets are handed out. -
I have a question…will there be any barricades set up? I was just wondering because my friend is probably going to line up at 8 AM tomorrow, but I won’t be there until an hour later…I’m worried that I won’t be able to join her and the people behind me getting mad for cutting the line. Hello, as a parent that lived through the absolute chaos of the Jonas appearance at Much Music I’m hoping this is handled better. If we come Friday night will we at least be able to find out if we should stay? Someone must know how many wristbands are being given out & I would hope that they wouldn’t make people camp out when there isn’t a chance of getting a wristband.Thank you.

Ok, so I have a driver’s licence but my sister is only 14. Is it ok for her to have an OHIP and school ID? The OHIP does not have a photo thou. What would you suggest? She doesn’t have a new photo ID yet.

Do you know what time people started lining up for the actual show last year? Did anyone camp out? and what if someone goes to the bathroom while they are giving out the numbers and you don’t get one? will your friend in line be able to tell them that they are in the bathroom and needs a number, so your friend can get 2 numbers and give you one? and where will people start to line up once the line wraps around the building once; will they form a double line?

As a parent who is concerned about their teenager lining up all night long it wouod be nice if there were some web cams up watching the lines that we could check to make sure our kids are ok.
Not being able to see your child all night knowing they are on the streets of Toronto makes for a very sleepless night. -

I’m trying to figure out the line up. Does it start at John & Queen, then go down to Richmond, over to Duncan and back up to Queen? If so, where will it go from there? We are coming from Union Station and it would help to know where the end might be.

Ummmmm i went last year at around 3am on sat and we barely made it we were at the back of the line and we were the last 20 to get wristbands keep in mind this is without Taylor and the jonas brothers so i don’t think you are going to get a wristband if u go today or tomorrow

my daughter and her freind were just told by the security guard that they should go home. After driving for an hour to get there, he said that approx 1400 wristbands are given out and there is already over 1700 people there

This is a sad time for two people. My daughter went and waited in line since 10:00 a.m. Friday, when it was time to get her wristband she realized her ID had been lost or stolen and she could not get a wristband, her friend did not get one as she didn’t want to go alone. If anyone finds ID (driver’s license and health card) please hand them in to Much Music. This was a once a year event for my daughter as she doesn’t get to go out much, she is a full-time student and a mother of two babies, she looks forward to this event all year. It’s a sad sad day.

I just got home, and according to CP24, there’s still people waiting to get wristbands! Approx. 2000 people were in line, it was soooo insane. Luckily we got our wristbands for the main stage floor, I’m excited! See you all next week

i just had a quick question.
i got my wristband today (yaaay!)
and when we were being told times and what not i sorta spaced out…. (i was one of the first 50 in the lineup…so no sleep since Wednesday evening, and only two hours since i was so pumped!) so, what time do we have to be there and is there anything important we need to remember for that night? i would really like to know when they start letting people in. and also i want to be up front, i have a wristband for the (standing not bleachers.) main stage so lady gaga, jonas etc. i want to be able to smell the artists =Dthankyou!

I just got my wristband, I got the orange one- jonas brothers/lady gaga/nickel back/kelly clarkson/ b.e.p….it’s a wristband for standing in the audience in the parking lot…well, I was wondering, how can I get a spot right infront of the stage, like right close to the performers? Do I have to come earlier than everyone else to get a better spot, or do the Muchmusic People assign them to their spot according to their colour wristband? I don’t get it…
And in recent years, have people camped out the day before the MMVA’s to ensure a better spot, or does it not really matter?

Haha this line-up was sooo much fun. Even though I got SUPER sunburnt yesterday. And zero sleep at all. I loved it. Plusssss I got a mainstage pit wristband so that helped with the whole “loving it” thing too.

we arrived in the afternoon and were there overnight, but a lot of people who arrived that morning got wristbands too.
so we kind of did all that for nothing, but it hey, was fun.

I was the one person and 3 other friends RIGHT behind the ticketed numbered people. it was like 1396 and if there were extra tickets, it would of been given to us! We waited the same time as the people infront that did get tickets, but since you guys poorly planned the line up, everyone was going nuts and we just completely lost out place. And so, people who came at 6 am rushed to the front of the line and completely just budded out us. I am very very dissapointed because for the fact that we were right behind the people that got tickets and probably came…. 2 minutes earlier than us. And also you guys should of informed us that there were 10 tickets left being given out instead of letting us know when We were once AGAIN right infront of the line… so sorry to say BUT Your organization is fail and I will be at the AFTER PARTY

lol it’s funny how those slips were suppose to secure your spot in line..
when one person ran, then everybody else ran and created chao’s.
meanwhile TONS of people never even got one?! what the heck.
and some security guards.. they just kept telling us to run back and
forth from sidewalk, to another sidewalk.. i’m surprised someone wasn’t
trampled on and killed. the most poorly run event EVER. -

I’m actually very dissappinted at how unorganized it was. Once one person ran HUNDREDS of people started running and budding infront of people. I showed up on friday, and people who came at like 5am on saturday morning got wristbands and my boyfriend, friends and I didn’t which is totally unfair. And when we thought we were about to get tickets, the door was closed AND they didn’t even bother to tell us to go home while we were in line because they weren’t handing out anymore tickets. Everyone was pissed off at that. It was compelety unfair that some people who slept out on the street didn’t even get a wristband because people who showed up the day of started budding people so they could get one and they did.
Not fair, and still dissapointed. -

I’m coming, and I need a rough estimate of when to come, so I want to see when other people are going too. Also, I’ve never done the 2-night campouts and that may be necessary. Weren’t you all incredibly dirty afterward!? any tips!?!

some people were dirty cause they slept over with just a sleeping bag, but we brought a 5 person tent, and fit 7 other new friends in it:)
Also for Wendy, im guessing your probably not part of this, but do you know if the video that one of your camera crews shot of us friday night will be on TV? i brought a guitar and my friends sang and played to the jonas brothers. I, very thankfully, did not feel i wanted to embarrass myself of TV singing to the jonas brothers though aha.

Wendy, thank you so much for clearing up a lot of questions on this blog, it really did help. We got wristbands thanks to these posts but when we got wristbands they only had John Street ones left, so at least now we know that we should go right after school next year. I really wanted to see Lady Gaga
Oh well…
One more question…will there be like a giant monitor on John street like the one they had for, I believe the Jonas brothers live @ much? I want to be able to see whats happening on the parking lot stage, and the roof

WENDY!! so i didnt get a wristband as i got stuck in that crazy mob of people from st. patrick st. lol…anywho… so can we camp out this weekend? what items are allowed or not? if i bring non allowed items to my camp out can i have someone come and pick them up before the show starts? the streets are closed off to vehicles right? so where would be the closest i could meet them to give them all my things while my sister holds our spot in line???

For all those who lined up and got caught up in the stampede, I feel your pain (I camped out on St. Patrick). I got crushed and “touched” in many unwanted places too.
But never says never. I got turned away 3 times but those security gaurds. But patience and perseverance pays off if your willing to wait aroud cause I (and a handful of people who waited ‘patiently’ last weekend) just got myself a WRISTBAND - like half hour ago! They only have John Street (pink) wristbands left or at least that’s what I saw.
Like previous years, they say they’ll be giving more out if the “parking lots” look empty. The lady said they still have “lots”. Just hope that people don’t show up or show up late and you can also get a wristband too.

Hey Wendy, I know somebody at in the “bizz” who was able to get me 4 wristbands for me and my friends (really excited)!
BUT when they were mailed to me, there were no line/place holders/ tickets so i don’t know if that means i’ll be in the VERY back or what.. or if ill be allowed to line up at all..
They’re orange? If that helps… i don’t even know where that section is…

@briittanniiee: even if you come without a wristband, you’ll still be able to see stuff (unless you’re really short) or at least hear all the music!! haha. It could get very crowded though
