Jazz Cartier To Make His iHeartRadio MMVAs Debut
Toronto rapper Jazz Cartier is going to have a memorable hometown show when he makes his debut on the iHeartRadio MMVA stage on Sunday, June 18. Just announced today, Jazz Cartier will be performing for the first time on stage at the biggest party of the year.
The homegrown artist has been changing the sound of Canadian hip hop from the inside out, with Cartier’s 2015 mixtape Marauding in Paradise and his 2016 mixtape Hotel Paranoia both being longlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize.
Cartier, who burst onto the music scene in 2011 with his debut mixtape Losing Elizabeth, earned two iHeartRadio MMVA nominations last year, including Best Hip Hop Video for “The Valley/Dead or Alive” and Best New Canadian Artist. Most recently, Cartier took home the JUNO Award for Rap Recording of the Year for Hotel Paranoia.
The 24 year-old musician is currently on tour across Canada and the U.S., with a scheduled spot on this summer’s WayHome Festival on July 29.
In addition to Jazz Cartier, today’s huge performer announcement also includes Lorde, Imagine Dragons, DNCE, Julia Michaels, and Iggy Azalea.
The 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs go down Sunday, June 18 at 9 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for more information on how to be a part of the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs.
