How to create and accessorize a red carpet look!
When dressing for the red carpet, we always start with a statement piece…whether it be a spiked headband, blingin’ jewelry, killer heels, a rock n’ rolla leather jacket or an epic dress or suit that makes you feel super amazing. When you don’t feel like wearing a dress or a suit, you can wear a sleek fitted jumpsuit. Keep in mind that you will be mingling and hangin’ with lots of rockstars, so you want to keep your outfit rock n’ roll but it needs to have a chicness it to as well. When looking for dresses, make sure you pick something that will stand out on the red carpet. You don’t want to blend in..you want to stand out and look VIP. If you pick an all black outfit, make sure you wear an attention grabbing accessory or wear something amazing in your hair. Getting your hair done in a super glam hairdo and wearing lipstick always makes every outfit looked more polished. Wearing your blazer over your shoulders and adding some sunglasses definitely gives you an edge on the red carpet.
Make sure to smile or smile with your eyes when posing and don’t wear a big purse on the red carpet. You want the attention to be on your outfit and not on your purse. Also, never wear dirty running shoes, have messy hair (bed head in a bad way) or wear leggings on the red carpet. If you are wearing a dress on the red carpet, make sure to wear heals so that it makes your legs look awesome! If you do decide to wear flats on the red carpet, make sure they stand out like a pair of silver slip-ons, from H&M that we are obsessed with. We are all about cool motorcycle boots and sexy strappy heels. For guys, we are all about skinny ties, cool suits, rock n’ roll tees and even ripped jeans. But if you wear ripped jeans, make sure you pair them with some cool, clean kicks to balance that grunge look. And we love when guys slick back their hair a la Cody Simpson…hot! (take note boyz!)
When accessorizing for the red carpet, we always go to H&M because they have the BESSST accessories to make any outfit unique and cool. Like adding some killer sunnies, and some amazing jewelry! Big earrings are a must. We love H&M’s oversized pearl earrings and add a standout piece like the snaked beaded necklace. Grab some colourful nail polish to do your nails and you are good to go! When choosing a purse, make sure it’s small like an evening clutch or a small bag that can hang with a long strap that won’t get in the way of your outfit. When choosing an accessory, pick a piece that makes you smile when you see it, that way it will be a great conversation starter when you meet Bieber. It’s all about having swag on the red carpet, so throw it all on and have a blast!
