Spring Fashion And Beauty Trends We Hope To See At The 2017 MMVAs

The 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs honour the year’s hottest music videos, but the award show’s red carpet gets even hotter. With bold fashion choices and extravagant entrances, the MMVAs red carpet is always one to remember.

Yellow is the new black, khaki is cool, glitter still rules the makeup world and so much more. Here are the spring fashion and beauty runway trends we want to see at the 2017 MMVAs.

Slick Straight Hair

Pin straight hair is making a comeback for spring/summer 2017, and the sleek middle-parted hairdo seems to be appearing everywhere. The straight hair trend is simple yet chic and works for any hair length. Lucy Hale, Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner are all doing the pin straight, middle part look this season and we can’t wait to see who else takes on the trend at this year’s MMVAs.

Glitter, Glitter and More Glitter

It seems spring is going to be a sparkly affair! Glitter is here to stay for the 2017 season. With vibrant glitter lips at the Fendi and DKNY shows, glitter cuticles at Rodarte and glitter eye shadow at Marc Jacobs, there’s no doubt that some of this year’s MMVAs performers and presenters will bring sparkles to the red carpet.

Smudgy Eyes

Move over smokey eye! The smudgy eye is here for spring. Celebrities aren’t worried about getting their eyeliner in perfectly neat lines anymore. At the Balmain and Christopher Kane spring 2017 runway shows, an eye gloss was applied over black liner to create a smudge effect. It creates a sort of late night, early morning feel that’s appearing on red carpets around the globe—and hopefully at this year’s MMVAs.

Yellow Everything

Is there a more fitting colour for spring/summer 2017 than yellow? This season, there are a wide variety of sunny yellow shades everywhere that complement any skin colour and completion. From eye shadow to lipstick to clutches and shoes, we are expecting there to be a lot of yellow colour pops on this year’s red carpet.

Clean Skin

The ‘no makeup’ makeup look isn’t exactly new for this season, but it’s definitely having a moment. With Alicia Keys’ decision to scrap cosmetics altogether and Kim Kardashian wearing zero makeup at the Balenciaga fashion show, the dewy, barefaced look has been on full display both on and off the runway and we expect it to make an appearance at the MMVAs.

Balenciaga. No make up today.

Whether they’re big or small, horizontal or vertical, thick or thin, expect to see a lot of stripes this summer—not just the ones on your beach umbrella. We’re interested in seeing who will be rocking stripes at this year’s MMVAs and in what way, as it’s a trend that’s making waves in both women and men’s fashion.

Consider it the stylish version of a waist trainer, or a chic 21st century corset. Regardless, it’s a surprising new trend this season and it’s starting to grow on us. Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski are two celebrities that have proven the waist-cincher is fashionable and can be both dressed up and down. Odds are at least one daring celeb will try out the waist-cincher trend on the MMVAs red carpet.

Thought khaki was just for casual looks? Think again! It seems that nearly every designer this season figured out how to make the utilitarian fabric work for more than just oversized army jackets. From khaki dresses to khaki-inspired street wear, we want to see some celebrities slay this spring/summer trend at the MMVAs.
