Exclusive! MMVA Nominee SonReal shares thoughts on Canadian music

SonReal Interview

Saying that it’s been a big year for Vancouver artist SonReal is an understatement. In the past twelve months, SonReal has released his mixtape One Long Day, scored a Juno nomination for Rap Recording of the Year, passed the 1 million views mark on YouTube for his Everywhere We Go video, begun his second tour of the year (which includes 52 dates), and is only second behind Drake and Hedley for most MMVA nominations this year with a whopping FIVE nominations. So yeah, it’s been a good year.

We caught up with five-time MMVA nominee and Presenter SonReal to find out how he’s preparing for tomorrow’s big show, what he really thinks of the state of Canadian music, and just how many times he’s watched Napoleon Dynamite.

Don’t miss SonReal presenting at the 2014 MMVAs tomorrow at 9E/6P on Much,, CTV and CTV GO.

  • Listen To Sia’s New Single ‘One Million Bullets’

First Sia gave us 1000 Forms Of Fear, now, the Australian singer-songwriter has released her latest single One Million Bullets. Apparently, she really likes counting macabre things.
