Here’s A Playlist With 10 Artists We Know Lorde Loves
Pop singer Lorde is returning to the iHeartRadio MMVAs for the biggest party of the year on Sunday, June 17 and we know she’s the perfect artist perform at the annual show.
While discussing her upcoming sophomore album Melodrama, Lorde revealed that much of the content is based on a house party she attended in her native New Zealand. But what does the Lorde house party sound like? We have a few ideas.
Check out 10 artists we think would definitely make Lorde’s playlist.
“Runaway,” Kanye West
At the opening weekend of Coachella earlier this month, Lorde introduced her second single “Liability” by singing a few lines from Kanye West’s 2010 “Runaway,” explaining that the opening notes reminded her of her new track.
“Hate That You Know Me,” Bleachers
Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff has spent the last few years working on two major projects — his sophomore album Gone Now and Lorde’s upcoming Melodrama. The musician recently released his second single from Gone Now with “Hate That You Know Me.” As for the disc’s lead single, “Don’t Take The Money,” he got a little help on vocals from his good buddy Lorde.
“I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” Taylor Swift and Zayn
No Lorde playlist would be complete with a track from her bestie Taylor Swift. We suggest Swift’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” duet with Zayn. The video was directed by Grant Singer, who was also behind the camera for Lorde’s lead Melodrama single “Green Light.”
“Life On Mars,” David Bowie
Shortly following his death, Lorde gave a stunning performance of David Bowie’s “Life On Mars” at the 2016 Brit Awards. Before his passing, Bowie called Lorde ‘the future of music’ and we couldn’t agree more.
“You & Me,” Disclosure (Flume Remix)
Lorde thankfully took a break from her musical hiatus to release “Magnets” with Disclosure in 2015. The self-professed Flume fan would probably love this remix of Disclosure’s “You & Me” track.
Lorde displayed her love for Drizzy and his 2015 mixtape by wearing If You’re Reading This It’s Too late nail decals, which she proudly displayed on her Instagram in May 2016. Hands up if you want to hear a Drizzy/Lorde duet? Us too.
“Raspberry Beret,” Prince
Following her appearance at the MET Gala in 2016, Lorde posted an image in her stunning tulle ballgown telling fans she spent the evening dancing to Prince. That’s pretty much how we imagine Lorde spending most nights.
“Flesh Without Blood/Life In The Vivid Dream,” Grimes
Lorde has previously proclaimed her love of Canadian artist Grimes, which is not at all surprising. Both women are creative genius who are in charge of all aspects of their art.
“Run Up,” Major Lazer fest. Nicki Minaj and PartyNextDoor
Lorde has also posted about her love of Major Lazer and considering her penchant for dance parties, we think she has definitely added the trio’s latest single “Run Up” to her playlist.
“Life of the Party,” Chelsea Jade
Lorde added this track to her Instagram story in April and since then we haven’t been able to stop listening to the trance-inducing, melodic jam.
