Hosts Alessia Cara and Joe Jonas Achieve Bestie Status In New Video

Alessia Cara is set to make her debut as a first-time host at the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs, but she won’t be doing it alone! Hosting with Alessia is Joe Jonas, who is coming back for the second time as host and performer, when he hits the stage for a high energy performance with his supergroup DNCE. The pair have been gearing up for Sunday night, with Alessia in LA recording new music while Joe has been traveling the world on tour with his band DNCE. But with the show only a few days away, Alessia and Joe are in full iHeartRadio MMVA training mode and that means achieving bestie status.

To host the biggest block party of the year together means knowing one another’s likes, dislikes, and what makes them tick. Candy or chocolate? Britney or Christina? Trunks or speedo? These are important questions that need answers before the pair take the stage at Queen and John on Sunday night.

During Joe and Alessia’s lightning round of questions, the hosts with the mosts found they have a lot more than making awesome music in common. They also like the same movies, refuse to choose between Canadian superstars Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes, and agree that holding one of the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards is the best form of weight lifting. BFF squad goals in full effect.

The pair also discussed Cara’s home country of Canada, which Jonas loves (we love you too, Joe!).

Sunday won’t be Jonas’ first time pulling double duty as host and performer. While hanging out with Cara, the former JoBro member discussed his first time hosting with his famous brothers, which included hanging out with Lady Gaga.

Both hosts are up for awards this year, with Joe’s band DNCE nominated for iHeartRadio International Duo or Group of the Year. As for Alessia, she’s nominated for Most Buzzworthy Canadian, Fan Fave Artist or Group, and iHeartRadio Single of the Year for “Scars To Your Beautiful.”

Joe and Alessia should have no trouble getting the crowd hyped on Sunday, June 18 considering the incredible line up of presenters and performers joining them on stage at the iHeartRAdio MMVAs. Performing at the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs are DNCE, Camila Cabello, Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Julia Michaels, Post Malone, Jazz Cartier, Iggy Azalea, Arkells, and Niall Horan.
